Snap the Cat is a super cute incremental game about taking pictures of cats

For fans of cats and incremental games - Snap the Cat is a cute and fresh entry into the genre for fans of relaxing casual games. Disclosure: a key was sent to GamingOnLinux.

Across 8 different unlockable biomes you'll be snapping lots of pictures of different types of cats, and there's some fun little costumes too. It's all about waiting and lining up the best shot as you only have a limited amount of shots each turn. Likes (little hearts) are your main resource here which you gather from taking shots, and then use to progress through the skill tree to keep upgrading to make more likes per shot and unlock all sorts of things.

As you progress through it you also get special tokens, which allow you to open boxes in a shop-like system to unlock more types of cats. You also get to unlock an assortment of different objects that appear on the map too like cat houses, trees and more that will further increase the amount of likes you end up getting for each picture if you snap them in the frame.

For fans of cute, simple incremental games it's a sweet one to go and pick up. You can't really go wrong with it. You know exactly what you're getting going into this one and it does it well.

As someone who has two cats often terrorising me in the office when running around play-fighting, and a phone camera quickly filling up with photos of my own two, the cute incremental game Snap the Cat was a good fit to try out. I think my younger cat enjoyed trying to paw the screw for this as much as I liked snapping the pictures.

I would have liked to have seen more to it - there's plenty of ways they could have kept this going for longer with more types of cats and more upgrades. No problems with the Native Linux version - looks great and runs well as expected from a smaller game like this.
