Answering the prayers of fans who have hoped for this day since the game’s release in 2024, Sloclap announced that a crossover event between Rematch and Blue Lock will arrive in late September.

What Is Blue Lock?

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Blue Lock is a sports manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and drawn by Yusuke Nomura. Published by Kodansha, the series debuted in August 2018 and follows Isagi Yoichi, one of 300 students selected to join Blue Lock, a government project aimed at nurturing the world’s best striker and finally winning Japan its first World Cup.

Although way more familiar to series like Kuroko’s Basketball than other modern soccer works like Ao Ashi and Giant Killing, the series’ action-packed narrative made it a worldwide phenomenon, with its popularity only growing with the release of its anime adaptation in 2023. This isn’t the first time the series has appeared in a game crossover, and its eFootball events are considered some of the latter’s best to this day.

Blue Lock x Rematch Release Date, Trailers, and More

The Rematch x Blue Lock crossover debuts worldwide on September 24, 2026. The crossover will make four of the franchise’s most popular characters (Isagi Yoichi, Rin Itoshi, Meguru Bachira, and Seishiro Nagi) playable and add the Blue Lock facility field as a new stadium. Just keep in mind that the characters are rumored to arrive as Store options, so make sure to save if you want to play as your favorite lump of talent. A recently released trailer focused on Rin Itoshi and also showed more of how the characters will be adapted to Rematch‘s visual style.
