Everything announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 has finally rolled around, which means that Geoff Keighley is back again to take to the stage and deliver all kinds of gaming news and reveals to fans from across the globe. Throughout the two-hour showcase, you can expect trailers, new game announcements, release date reveals, and more.

Below, you'll find a list of everything announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.

Nodus Fall from HoyoVerse announced

Gamescom Opening Night Live's main show has kicked off with a trailer for the fantastical-looking Nodus Fall. This fantasy RPG is being developed by HoYoverse, and it certainly looks a little different to what we've seen from the developer so far (Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero). With a much more mature art style and what appears to be co-op gameplay, Nodus Fall doesn't have a release date just yet.

Rainbow 6 Tactics gameplay shown off

Up next, we've been given a look at Rainbow 6 Tactics. Developed by Ubisoft Paris, the showcase treated us to a lengthy gameplay trailer for the single-player tactics game, where you'll be leading a squad of operators on missions around the world, where you must strategise to succeed. Rainbow 6 Tactics launches in 2027.

Gears of War E-Day trailer and release date

Gamescom treated us to one of our first looks at Gears of War E-Day's campaign trailer, the Xbox console exclusive sequel to the beloved series. This trailer gave us a little more insight into the story, offering us our first look at the locust leader behind the invasion. Gears of War E-Day will release on 6th October 2026.

Ananta release date revealed

Next, we got a trailer for the highly-anticipated Ananta, which is an open world, free-to-play, RPG game from Netease. First revealed three years ago, the developer has finally given us an idea of what sort of gameplay to anticipate from this game, where you'll be playing as a member of the ADC. We also got news of a release date: January 15th, 2027.

Silent Hill Townfall trailer

"You said we could put things right…" This guy has clearly never heard of Silent Hill before. Gamescom Opening Night Live has given us another brief story trailer for Silent Hill Townfall, showcasing what's to come from our foray into an eerie, foggy Scotland. The trailer also revealed the English voice cast for the game to feature Terry O'Quinn from Lost.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy trailer

Releasing in just two days (27th August 2026), we've now received a new teaser trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Prequel to the existing Plague Tale games, you'll be stepping foot into the shoes of Sophia for this adventure.

Sea of Remnants trailer

Next, we've been privy to a new trailer for fantasy RPG Sea of Remnants, which looks to offer boss fights, mini-games, naval combat and more. It's available to pre-register for now if you're interested.

Crimson Desert new content trailer

A new trailer for Crimson Desert shows off an improved version of the action-adventure game developed by Pearl Abyss that was released earlier this year. The trailer revealed that the game is being updated with new story moments, expanded voice-over and language support, and will include all post-launch updates to date.

Tides of Annihilation trailer

Gamescom delivered a new trailer for the fantasy-action game Tides of Annihilation, which revealed the voice behind protagonist Gwendolyn to be Angela Sant'Albano (Grace Ashcroft from Resident Evil: Requiem). The trailer also showed us a rather dystopian looking London, as well as some interesting hack-and-slash combat.

Lofsöng trailer

Looking similar in vibe to LIMBO and its ilk, Lofsöng showed off some hallucinogenic, puzzling gameplay in a new trailer. Playing out with a black and white backdrop, it looks like you'll play as a little red astronaut-like character in this title, which is available to wishlist now.

Mega Man Dual Override trailer

Capcom has shared a brand-new Mega Man Dual Override trailer with us, revealing a new character who intends to foil Mega Man's plans to save the world. It'll no doubt be your job to put a stop to that once the game releases, though we don't have a release date just yet.

Rayman Legends Retold new musical stage revealed

With new realms, content, graphics, and voiced cinematics, we've been given another trailer for Rayman Legends Retold which showcases yet another new musical stage that'll be featured in the game. It's the Macarena. Turns out we'll also have a musical stage based on MC Hammer's Can't Touch This too… Amazing.

Rayman Legends Retold releases on October 1st, 2026.

PUBG DED.NET trailer

In a chaotic new trailer that featured lots of gunfire, rampaging dolls, and plenty of blood, DED.NET is a new game in Krafton's PUBG universe that you can join the closed beta for now.

Once Human trailer

A brief trailer for Once Human showed off the free, open-world PvPvE game. Now, I haven't revisited this game in a while, but it was a pretty fun time when I played it at launch, and I can imagine it's only gotten bigger and better since then.

Control Resonant trailer

Another brief teaser trailer follows, with a look at Control Resonant being accompanied by The Prodigy's Omen. Remedy Entertainment's sequel looks to bring some of the most impeccable vibes in gaming, and you can play it very soon, as it's arriving on September 24th, 2026.

The Blood of Dawnwalker trailer

Up next, players get a look at the action RPG from Rebel Wolves, which looks to offer every bit of bloody vampire-based gameplay you'd expect. There's brutal sword fights, beasts to slay, and of course, the trailer showed a touch of romance… The Blood of Dawnwalker is releasing on 3rd September, 2026.

Game of Thrones War of the Westeros trailer

A strategy game set in the Game of Thrones universe - Game of Thrones War of the Westeros -has been shown off, putting an Age of Empires-style spin on the epic tale from author George R.R. Martin. This one will be arriving in early 2027. Enjoy!

Dust Origins announced

Another game to add to the list of things I'll immediately forget about personally, the trailer for Dusk: Origins showed off a gritty, sci-fi, isometric action thriller, where you must escape from an orbital prison. No release date has yet been revealed.

Exodus release date revealed

Exodus finally received a release date of 7th April, 2027! Tonight's trailer for this Mass Effect-like RPG didn't just reveal when players can expect to play the game, but also showed off a rather curious companion: an octopus known as Salt. Salt is also the pilot of a mech suit and is a real force to be reckoned with if this trailer is anything to go by, and I'm keen to see what other resourceful creatures that developer Archetype Entertainment (a Wizards of the Coast studio) is cooking up. Romance, a morality system, and the concept of time dilation have certainly piqued my personal interests…

Warlock Dungeons and Dragons

We finally got one of our first looks at Warlock Dungeons and Dragons, delivered to us by Maggie Robertson, who'll be playing Tasha in the action RPG. The trailer gave us a look at exactly how Tasha uses magic in-game, as well as what sort of gameplay to expect. Safe to say, this looks like the sort of digital adventure some of us D&D fans have been longing for since Baldur's Gate 3, but only time will tell. It'll be arriving in 2027.

1001 Threads of Mizan trailer

Up next, 1001 Threads of Mizan was announced. Inspired by 1001 Arabian Nights, the reveal trailer for this game showed off flying carpets, gargantuan deserts, and some epic-looking boss fights with colossal beings that featured electrifying combat.

Silver Palace House of Greed revealed

A lively trailer for Silver Palace House of Greed was shown off next, which honestly had me mistaken for a Genshin Impact trailer initially. Either way, this RPG from Silver Studio looks to offer more visually-interesting combat and epic bosses for anime RPG fans to sink their teeth into.

Monster Hunter Outlanders revealed

In a brief but explosive trailer, Monster Hunter Outlanders was revealed for mobile devices. It's not yet known exactly what to expect from this on, but if I had to guess, you'll be, well, monster hunting.

Metro 2039 gameplay trailer and release window

A new gameplay trailer for Metro 2039 has been shown off, with 4A Games themselves giving us a deeper glance at what we can expect from the dark, post-apocalyptic FPS, which is being built in the 4A Engine. On top of a good look at the gameplay and what we can expect from the horrors of war and price of freedom in-game, we also received a release window for the game: February 2027.

Hitman Elusive Target, The Heralist, revealed

Snoop Dogg is appearing in yet another game, and this time, it's alongside Agent 47 in Hitman. Looks like Agent 47 is going to have to do his best to not become victim to the cloud of smoke that follows Snoop – and the munchies that may follow – as he goes after Snoop Dogg in Hitman's next Elusive Target mission, The Herbalist.

The Herbalist will be available for free from 27th August to 26th September, 2026.

Aion 2 trailer

Sequel to Aion, a trailer for Aion 2 was revealed next, showing off a mystical world full of glowing trees, ruined buildings, and of course, more epic boss fights. Accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack, you'll be fighting for the future of Atreia in this RPG, which releases on 5th October, 2026.

Afterworld trailer

Straight into the next trailer, we got to see a glimpse of Afterworld, a post-apocalyptic grand strategy game from Paradox Development Studio. The trailer suggests that you'll be reclaiming the land while discovering the history of those who came before you, and it looks like you'll be developing civilizations of sorts in this title.

Petit Planet trailer

Another game from HoYoverse, the trailer for Petit Planet shows off a rather charming, cosy game full of chibi characters, cute animals, and magical moments. A new direction for the developer, this farming simulation game is arriving in winter 2026, and you can pre-register for it now.

Mewgenics is coming to consoles

After a live performance of the Mewgenics soundtrack, Geoff Keighley revealed that Mewgenics will be arriving on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on September 8th, 2026.

Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 launch trailer

Following that exceptional performance, we plunged straight into the launch trailer for Aliens Fireteam Elite 2. Another tactical strategy game to sink your teeth into, this Opening Night Live is shaping up to be a real treat for strategy game lovers. I'm happy for you. The game is available now, and will be arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29th.

1666 Amsterdam trailer

Opening Night Live isn't letting up just yet. The next trailer shown off was for 1666 Amsterdam, an action-adventure game featuring more brutal albeit beautiful-looking combat set in a supernatural version of 17th-century Amsterdam. Early Access is available now if that sounds up your alley.

Showa American Story trailer

From Nekcom, the next trailer was for Showa American Story, which showed off characters, gameplay, and the voice cast for the game. There's ability-fuelled combat, simulation aspects, and what looks to be a lot of humorous moments to cut through the brutal fights you'll be engaging in. You can wishlist it now.

Road Kings revealed

Coming from Saber and Focus Entertainment, driving game Road Kings was revealed. We didn't get much insight into what to expect from this teaser trailer, but it looks like there'll be some very intense truck driving in tough conditions. The game is releasing on 11th March, 2027.

Stage Tour trailer

Featuring 180+ instruments and over 90 tracks from a wide range of artists – including Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Olivia Rodrigo, Bring Me The Horizon, Muse, and more – the Stage Tour showed off some rock 'n' roll gameplay (which includes karaoke!) that hails back to a better time, where all I cared about was playing Guitar Hero on my Xbox 360.

Stage Tour is releasing on 10th December, 2026.

Crazy Taxi World Tour multiplayer trailer

An all-new Crazy Taxi is going to be coming to a screen near you soon, and the better news is that it'll also feature multiplayer. A new multiplayer reveal trailer has shown that this chaotic classic is being remade with co-op in mind, and I can't wait to be weaving in and out of obstacles galore alongside my friends. Crazy Taxi World Tour will be available in 2027.

Turok Origins delayed to spring 2027

Previously due in 2026, Turok Origins appears to have been delayed to spring 2027. To soften the blow however, we got a new trailer showing off the savage worlds we'll be exploring and the intimidating beasts we'll be fighting. Of course, there's also lots of gory, bloody combat to look forward to once the game does release too.

Gravhounds revealed

We next received a trailer for the debut game – Gravhounds – from Octopus Panic, which consists of just seven developers, and was founded by Halo and Battlefield veterans. The co-op action game looks to similar to Deep Rock Galactic in style, and you and your anthropomorphic companions will be mining, building, and upgrading away. Gravhounds releases later this year in Early Access.

LEGO Skylines

Known for its citybuilding simulation games, Paradox Interactive has gone down a slightly different route with its next reveal: LEGO Skylines. In this new city-builder, you'll be building your world using LEGO blocks!

Transport Fever 3

The reveals from Paradox Interactive don't stop there, as its next game – which we only saw the briefest teaser trailer for – is one for the transport simulation lovers out there. Transport Fever 3 will become available on 29th September, where you can live out your boat, train, and truck best life, or whatever it is you do in these games. I don't know.

Exterminauts revealed

Next, we received a trailer for Exterminauts, which shows off a co-operative, bug-slaying, sci-fi adventure that looks like Helldivers 2 and No Man's Sky had a baby. I'm not sold on this one – I could never really get into either of the aforementioned games – but it looks like a real blast (literally) if that's your thing.

Path of Exile 2 full 1.0 release announced

The next trailer shown off was for the highly-anticipated action RPG that is Path of Exile 2. Gamescom Opening Night Live has certainly had no shortage of boss fights featuring brutal combat, and Path of Exile isn't here to change that. Most notably though, those who've been waiting for the game's launch need not wait much longer, as the free-to-play game will leave Early Access on 11th December, 2026.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Remake trailer

The next reveal of the evening was Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which shows yet another world under duress that players are no doubt going to be tasked with restoring to its former glory in this strategy title. Expect to fight fantasy creatures galore and relive the saga of Shadow of Death, Restoration of Erathia, and Armageddon's Blade all over again. There's no sign of a release date just yet, but you can wishlist it now.

No Law trailer

From the Swedish team that is Neon Giant, we next received a trailer for the open-world FPS RPG that is No Law. Set in the cyber-grunge city of Port Desire where there's flying cars and Cyberpunk-esque neon-soaked streets, it looks like you'll be barrelling your way through this game with a mixture of violent action and careful stealth. It'll be arriving in 2027.

Project Zeta reveal trailer

Following No Law is a teaser trailer for Project Zeta, which is being published by Krafton. This is a 4-player tactical shooter that shows off lots of ability-based gameplay to be keeping track of, though it promises to not be your typical hero shooter or MOBA. Check it out for yourself on Steam, where you can join the Project Zeta playtest now.

Cinder City trailer

The bright atmosphere of Project Zeta is immediately extinguished by a gruesome trailer for Cinder City. This post-apocalyptic shooter from Big Fire Games shows off human experiments, zombie-like creatures, and horrors beyond your imagination. Safe to say that you can count me in for this one, assuming it leans into the horror aspects shown off in its trailer…

Ontos trailer

Up next, we got a closer look at Frictional Games upcoming title, Ontos, the spiritual successor to the sci-fi horror classic that is SOMA. This trailer gave us our first glimpse at gameplay and some further insight into the story at play, which features an experiment gone wrong that sees the protagonist's consciousness transferred into rats. Now, I've had an issue with rats for a few months now, so this game looks like my worst nightmare. Alas, it is Frictional Games at the helm, so say less. I'll be there at launch!

Pony Island 2: Panda Circus trailer

Coming from the creators of Inscryption, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is shaping up to be one of the most interesting games shown off during Opening Night Live, showing a blend of 2D, 3D, and live-action gameplay segments. Also revealed during this trailer was who'll be appearing in the game, including Sungwon Cho, Arian Moayed, Caitlin Reilly, and Kevin Saxby.

Pony Island 2: Panda Circus will release on 27th April, 2027.

Zoopunk trailer

The next trailer shows off the wild world of Zoopunk, with more anthropomorphic characters taking to the stage in what looks like a combat-focused story that'll take place across land, sky islands, and airships. While I'm not completely sold on this one, the horde of very vocal beavers featured in the trailer might've swayed me towards checking this one out in future.

There Are No Ghosts at the Grand trailer

The next trailer was for Friday Sundae's There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, which is a story-based restoration game that's akin to Power Wash Simulator in a way, but there's a twist. First, this one looks to feature a talking tool that'll be aiding you with your restorative work, but secondly, part of your restorative work will be ghost-hunting by night. Looks like you will ultimately restore beaches, parks, manor houses and more by clearing litter and exorcising ghosts in Friday Sundae once it releases in Early Access in December 2026.

Roco Kingdom trailer

If your hands weren't already full catching them all in Pokémon and Palworld, the next trailer showed off a brand-new open-world multiplayer creature collecting RPG called Roco Kingdom. This one looks a little cosier than its inspirations, but we didn't get much of a look at it outside of a brief glance at its world and some of its creatures… which do look eerily familiar.

If you're keen to know more, Roco Kingdom has a closed beta test on 27th October.

The Defiant trailer

The next trailer showcased was for The Defiant, a historical FPS game that'll feature heroic stories from the Chinese battlefields of World War 2. You can wishlist it on Steam now.

Tarae: The Unbound trailer

As Gamescom Opening Night Live comes to a close, we've still a few more trailers to go, including one for the action RPG that is Tarae: The Unbound. Featuring an Eastern-inspired world and more showy combat, you'll be exploring the shattered island of Taegwido in this Krafton-published adventure.

Like or Die

Developed by NC, the next trailer is for FPS game Like or Die. In this one, it looks like you'll be shooting your way to stardom and viral fame in this squad-based shooter. No release date has yet been announced.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation

The game many of you have no doubt been waiting for, a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation was shared after being introduced by the series director, Naoki Hamaguchi. The trailer offers much of what you'd expect; weapons galore, airships, huge creatures, and of course, chocobo riding!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and Songs of the Past DLC closes the show

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may have been released almost ten years ago, but CD Projekt Red is the gift that keeps on giving for Witcher fans, as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and the Songs of the Past DLC is set to hit our digital shelves soon. After little was known about the DLC, Gamescom ONL treated us all to a trailer showing off a new setting of Letten in the expansion, as well as updated combat, monsters, and more. You can expect it to arrive on 29th September.
